Leon Strong

How you can help

Leon Strong runs on volunteers and small donations. Here is what we need before November 3.

Leon Strong is a local committee. There is no staff and no budget beyond what people here put into it. Two things decide these four questions: neighbors willing to talk to neighbors, and enough money to get the facts in front of everybody else.

Give your timeVolunteer

Most of this campaign is people talking to people they already know. That is work anybody can do, and it is the part that actually moves votes.

  • Put a sign in your yard
  • Share what we post on Facebook so it reaches people we cannot
  • Answer questions when they come up — send people to the questions page if you get one you are unsure about
  • Help hand out materials and work events between now and November
  • Take somebody with you when you go vote

Tell us what you have time for and we will find you something useful.

Give what you canChip in

Advertising, mailers and printed material to explain what is actually on the ballot all cost money, and this committee has no source for it other than the people who live here.

Every dollar goes to reaching voters who have not heard about the bond or the VATRE yet.

We are setting up online giving right now. Check back shortly — and if you would like to give before then, email us and we will take it from there.

Businesses can give, too. Texas bars corporations from contributing to candidates, but not to a committee that supports ballot measures only. Leon Strong is one, so a business may contribute here.

Not sure where you fit?

Ask. Even “what is a VATRE?” is a useful thing to bring us — it tells us what still needs explaining.
